Jim Cabrera

Eagle Ventures was founded in 2010 by James P. Cabrera, a Greenwich native with over thirty-five (35) years of experience in the local commercial real estate market. Over the course of his career, Mr. Cabrera has raised in excess of $2.0 billion of debt and equity for local real estate projects and has partnered with numerous institutions, private equity firms, endowments, family offices and high net worth individuals.

From 1996 to 2010, Mr. Cabrera was the co-managing member of Antares Investment Partners, a vertically integrated real estate investment and services company. At its’ peak, Antares was the managing member of a portfolio spanning over ten million square feet and valued in excess of $5.0 billion.

Mr. Cabrera has made a profound impact on the landscape of Connecticut over the course of his career with a vision of making Connecticut a better place to live. In 2004, Mr. Cabrera acquired and assembled 80 acres of blighted, contaminated property in Stamford’s South End neighborhood from disinterested sellers. Mr. Cabrera led the horizontal phase of the development, achieving entitlements for over seven million square feet of mixed use development. Today, Harbor Point is one of Connecticut’s most vibrant mixed-use communities and serves as a case study for future urban revitalization efforts in the state. Other notable projects include the acquisition and redevelopment of U.S. Tobacco’s Greenwich Headquarters at 100 West Putnam and the repositioning, lease-up and sale of Pickwick Plaza, two of Greenwich’s premier office properties among many others.

Prior to founding Antares, Mr. Cabrera was regional president of The Galbreath Company where he managed a staff of 350 professionals and nearly 5 million square feet of office space with an approximate value of $850 million. Mr. Cabrera leveraged his experience at Galbreath to found Antares Real Estate Services, a property management, leasing and construction business that provided services for high-end customers in the financial services industry such as Tudor Investment Corporation, S.A.C. Capital, GE and Starwood Capital.

Mr. Cabrera is strongly rooted in the local marketplace and firmly believes in giving back to the communities in which he conducts business. Mr. Cabrera was the Chairman of the Greenwich YMCA where he led a successful workout of $30 million of defaulted debt stemming from a capital improvement project that was steeply over budget. Mr. Cabrera also donated the land for the Waterside School, a needs-blind private school in the Harbor Point Neighborhood of Stamford, is the co-founder of the Greenwich High School Sports foundation and the co-founder of the JHC Memorial Scholarship fund. Having served on numerous non-profit boards in the area and coaching countless youth sports teams, Mr. Cabrera has developed long-lasting relationships with local businesses, politicians and community leaders.

Mr. Cabrera earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University in 1987 where he was an All-American lacrosse player and most importantly where he met his wife, Ginge. As a father of 3, he currently resides in Old Greenwich, CT with his wife and daughter.  

Peter Cabrera

Peter Cabrera joined Eagle Ventures in 2020 and serves as the firms Vice President of Acquisitions and Development.

Mr. Cabrera joined the firm after serving as Director of Capital Advisory at Paul Massey’s B6 Real Estate Advisors, where he arranged debt and equity on behalf of commercial real estate developers; property owners; and investors across all asset classes and geographies. During his tenure at B6, Mr. Cabrera was recognized as one of the firm’s top capital markets producers and was named to Commercial Observer’s “Top 25 Under 35 Debt and Equity Professionals” in 2019.

Prior to B6, Mr. Cabrera was an analyst in JLL’s Public Institutions Group in Washington D.C. At JLL, Mr. Cabrera was charged with conducting highest and best use studies, developing requests for proposals and underwriting developer proposals public private partnerships on behalf of federal, state and local governments, universities and colleges as well as professional sports teams.

Mr. Cabrera earned a bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College in 2015, where he was a member of the Benjamin Franklin Financial Honors Society.
